Custom Aluminum Tubular Link Arm with Clevis Ends
Custom Aluminum Tube Fabrication, Welding & Component Assembly
A custom aluminum link arm combining a tubular body, clevis mounting ends and welded connections — built through an integrated multi-process manufacturing workflow.
One Component, Multiple Integrated Manufacturing Processes
The aluminum tubular link arm is a single assembly that brings together a tubular body, clevis mounting ends and internal inserts. Delivering it requires multiple fabrication processes working in sequence — tube fabrication, surface grinding, welding and assembly — each controlled so the finished part fits and functions as a stable, repeatable unit.

Manufacturing Challenges
The component combines a tubular body, clevis plates and internal inserts into a single welded assembly. Three areas have to be controlled for reliable fit and repeatable production.
Weld Preparation Consistency
Contact surfaces are ground so each joint welds cleanly and consistently.
Component Positioning
The tube, clevis plates and internal inserts are correctly positioned before welding and assembly.
Welding Quality
Consistent weld quality and appearance are maintained across the batch.
Component Fabrication
Before assembly, the link arm’s individual components are fabricated separately — including the clevis mounting plates and the internal tube inserts.
The Manufacturing Process
Six production stages turn aluminum tube and plate into a finished, welded link arm assembly.
Component Preparation
Aluminum tube sections, clevis plates and internal tube inserts are prepared for fabrication.
Surface Grinding & Weld Preparation
Contact surfaces are ground to remove contamination and create clean, consistent joints for a reliable weld.
Welding
The tubular body is welded to the mounting bosses and structural features.
Clevis Installation / Assembly
Clevis ends are positioned and assembled to complete the link arm structure.
Inspection
Dimensions, hole positions and weld connections are checked for consistency.
Finishing
The component receives the required surface treatment as specified.
Production Result
The final component — an aluminum tubular link arm with clevis ends, delivered as a complete finished assembly produced as a batch.
Quality & Production Control
Each production stage is controlled to keep the component consistent and repeatable.
Dimensional Consistency
Fabricated features held to a consistent geometry across the batch.
Hole-Position Verification
Mounting hole positions are verified for correct assembly.
Welded Joint Inspection
Welds are checked for positioning and stability across the assembly.
Surface Condition
The finished surface condition is verified before the part leaves production.
Final Assembly Inspection
The completed assembly is reviewed before packing and shipment.
